Irish Stew for Saxophone Quartet

Big Ben's Reel

Big Ben's Reel is a fantastic follow-up to 2005's Cityscapes, one of my most popular and enduring works to date.

You'll hear my signature fusion of ethnic music vocabulary with a jazz sensibility — all in a saxophone quartet setting. The primary feeling is that of an Irish Reel (albeit a groovy Irish Reel) with spices of Slavic, Jewish, and Funk music thrown in to balance out the flavors.

Big Ben's Reel is a single movement, clocking in at about 4 minutes and 15 seconds. It's catchy, evocative, and satisfying to play and hear.
