PSU Blue Band gets jazzy

This just in:  the live recording of the chart I arranged for the recent marching season of the Penn State Blue Band.  In 2013 the assignment included Bruno Mars' Treasure - used as a "stands tune" to get the student section singing along - and For Once in My Life, a tune covered by many including a young Stevie Wonder and a middle-aged Frank Sinatra.  My Blue Band arrangement was modeled after Bobby Darin's version.

A little background: I've been a staff arranger for the Blue Band for a dozen years, contributing about 2 charts a year since 2002.  Always a fun gig!  Past arrangements have included Stairway to Heaven, a Ding Dong the Witch is Dead / Merry Ol' Land of Oz Mashup, Brian Setzer's Drive Like Lightning, and The Who's Won't Get Fooled Again.

This was recorded at their 2013 Bandorama concert in which they perform on stage in Penn State's 2000+ seat Eisenhower Auditorium.

I love bringing my family to this concert: the band parades in through the aisles, the whole color guard is doing their thing, and it's an ol' fashioned rah-rah good time.
