Here's another excellent performance of Free Food?, this time by the University of Kentucky Jazz Ensemble at the Midwest Band & Orchestra Clinic.
I can always count on director Miles Osland to find creative ways to enhance the music. Dig the choreography — particularly of the trombone section — about 2/3 way through the tune. I love it - they totally get my unscripted intent of the music: that, when it comes time for the sections to trade off, the saxes groove, the trombones wail, and the trumpet section is content making quacking sounds on their mouthpieces. :-)
Well done, Miles & UK jazzers!
