Free Food?

An ode to ducks, of course!  Funny, catchy, good-humored Calypso in C minor. Cute use of trumpet mouthpiece "quacks." 16-bar solos scored for several players — a great vehicle for featuring a handful of soloists, but much more interesting than endless blues choruses. Meaty sax and trombone solis. Fun, funny ending. Great tune anywhere in a set.

Lead Trumpet:  D   •   Duration:  6:30 minutes   •   no doubles

Recorded in studio (August 2010) by a band of fantastic Central Pennsylvania musicians:

trombones: Paul Leskowicz, Mark Lusk (tenor & bass)
rhythm: Steve Rudolph (piano), Bob Insko (bass), Aaron Kimmel (drums)

Solos: Orris, Supina, Leskowicz, Donovan, Ragonese, Rudolph
